Trail running is an activity that aligns physical exercise with nature, making Porto Moniz the perfect place for all trail aficionados.

The Municipality of Porto Moniz has been following all the work being done on the Island, focusing on supporting top quality events that will have positive effects on the local community.

Thus, with support from the Municipality, the opening of the international event MIUT - Madeira Island Ultra Trail happens in Porto Moniz.

The Madeira Island Ultra Trail is a trial that counts towards the UTWT - made up of 12 countries / destinations such as New Zealand, Hong-Kong, USA, Japan, Morocco, and Italy.
